Signal Processing and Algorithm Developer

In this role, you will work as key member of a team designing and building novel wearable devices that integrates multiple physiological sensing to obtain key information on activity, sleep, calorie burn and general state of health.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Perform signal processing on physiological data
  • Implement algorithms and mathematical modeling
  • Work with machine learning techniques
  • Write and execute software scripts for targeted data collection
  • Develop architectures for wearable device that sample physiological data and processes the information in real time
  • Designs and develop real-time code for ARM Cortex processors
  • Transforms signal processing and algorithms (e.g written in Matlab) into C or C++ code
  • Develops and execute tests to characterize algorithm and system performance

What You Need for this Position

  • Masters (PhD preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Physics
  • Strong background in signal processing and algorithm development
  • Background in machine learning
  • 5+ years’ experience in developing algorithm or software systems
  • Good experience with Matlab
  • Experience with LabVIEW preferred
  • Experience in developing c or Java
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams

Senior Firmware Engineer

In this role, you will work as key member of an embedded R&D team implementing reliable solutions for Salutron’s wearable devices. Challenges include developing low-power battery-powered embedded systems and integrating multiple physiological sensors to obtain key information on activity, sleep, heart rate, calorie burn and general state of health in a fast-paced and rewarding environment. Candidate must be self-motivated and highly responsible.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Architect firmware considering precise-timing, low-power, flexibility and reliability
  • Design, build, and test efficient and reusable software
  • Perform experiments to inform strategies for sensor-excitation, sampling, algorithm characterization, and system performance
  • Work with product team to analyze functional requirements and technical feasibility
  • Create Documentation (theory of operations, specifications, datasheets, test result reports, etc.)
  • Implement algorithms and mathematical modeling
  • Conduct code reviews when necessary

What You Need for this Position

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • 4+ years of related work experience
  • Knowledge of basic electronics, and the ability to read schematics
  • The ability to work with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, multimeters, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Familiarity with serial interfaces (I2C, SPI) and data sampling techniques (ACDs)
  • Strong debugging and analytical skills
  • Understanding of state machines, system timing, interrupts

Pluses

  • ARM Cortex M4 development experience
  • Experience with BT/BLE
